The Wild Edges
About Us
Where We Are
The Wild Edges is a 50 acre property in the Blue Mountains bordering the edge of the World Heritage Area National Park.

Take a week or more and you could walk all the way in world Heritage wilderness to Mittagong.

The Wild Edges is a place of both tranquility and challenge. Perched on the edge of cliffs from which the property gets its name. Away from the edges are places of quiet and beauty.
The Wild Edges Project
We have lived in this place for the last 24 years. For several years now it has also been a place where people have come to be part of workshops, training, leadership development work or to rest and take time out for personal retreat and spiritual renewal.

So it is paradoxically both a wild space, and a comforting space.

We want to continue to maintain this space for people to reflect and regain perspective, refresh their spirits and find energy and courage for purposeful living.
We are also seeking to utilise the property in a range of other ways, including community farming projects and artist workshops.

The Wild Edges Project is a not-for-profit initiative to support sustainable living, empower and renew people to make a positive difference with their lives.
We want to provide a space that can offer people time, space and support to refresh their spirits, regain perspective on their lives and energy for purposeful living.

Together we can grow more sustainable relationships with ourselves, the earth and each other.

To achieve this we are seeking to build a community of people able to facilitate retreats and support people who are trying to make a difference for our fragile planet. We plan to continue our contribution to these critical issues, and to make the most of our property to these ends, collaborating with eco-faith groups, community organisations and other like-minded people in these endeavours.
Who We Are
Peter & Sue Kaldor
Living at The Wild Edges has been an inspirational gift, perched on the edge of an amazing wilderness. Throughout our lives we have regularly spent time in wilderness exploration, in extended walking or paddling journeys in remote parts of Tasmania and camping expeditions in the Australian desert. We have both loved team experiences – in the wilderness, in work, advocacy, community life and in sporting teams.
These experiences have provided renewal for us and others. They have shown us the significance of the natural world for well being and inspiration. They also generate perspective on some paradoxical realities: on the resilience and fragility of our planet and our human potential to harm or sustain it.
The Wild Edges Community
At the heart of any venture are yearning and committed people
The Wild Edges Project is a collaborative endeavour. There is a community of people from diverse backgrounds including some living on the property and others who are friends or supporters working together to nurture these different initiatives.
